Samira Wiley and wife Lauren Morelli kept their pregnancy a secret and announced the arrival of their baby on Mother’s Day, 9th May 2021

Samira and Lauren met on the set of ‘Orange Is The New Black’, where Samira played Poussey Washington and Lauren was a writer for the show. They had a beautiful wedding in 2017 and got married in Palm Springs.

Samira made the announcement that her wife had given birth via an instagram post, with a photo of both of them holding onto the baby’s hands:

“Happy 1st Mother’s Day to my beautiful wife, who four weeks ago today after laboring for almost 3 days gave birth to our first child—our gorgeous daughter, George.💜

Welcome to the world, babygirl. We love you and we thank you for giving us the best 1st Mother’s Day two ladies could ask for.

Lauren also posted the same sweet photo, adding:

“4 weeks ago today, our daughter came into the world and changed everything. We are so happy, so grateful, and so tired. George Elizabeth, 4.11.21 ❤️”
