Singer Rita Ora and actress Tessa Thompson have been captured looking rather ~ close ~ which of course can only mean one thing… gal pals!

Twitter has been sent into a spin due to the use of the word ‘gal pals’ by Daily Mail to describe their (quite probable) romantic encounter.

As one Twitter user added, “If you’re not sitting nose-to-nose with your gal pal, with your legs or her laps and longing for her everlasting love then can you even call her your gal pal?”

So, what exactly was going on? As far as we can tell, Rita and Tessa were getting rather intimate, along with Rita’s rumoured boyfriend, Taika Waititi. They were papped at a house party at Taika’s. Taika is the director of Thor: Love and Thunder film which Tessa is starring in. Tessa’s Marvel character, Valkyrie, is confirmed to be the first LGBTQ+ superhero with a female love interest.

Could they more than ‘gal pals’? Tessa seems to be no longer with her on/ off girlfriend Janelle Monae and Rita confirmed she’s bisexual after backlash to her song, Girls, stating:

“Girls was written to represent my truth and is an accurate account of a very real and honest experience in my life… I have had romantic relationships with women and men throughout my life and this is my personal journey.”
